When I say enhance I mean add on
or edit. In most sites this is a on going fase that almost never
ends. The first time you "enhance" you site, you will add neat little
things that attract attention or make the page easier to use. One
thing I recomend you do first is sign up for a web page counter, or more
commonly known as a hit counter. This counts the hits (or number
of surfers that come to visit your page). I would recomend getting
one from TheCounter.com.
This will provide a both easy to use and basic counter. When you
enhance your site you will also want to maybe add CGI. CGI is the
term used to describe the adding of computer languages such as C++ and
PERL to your web page. CGI programs can do all sorts of things.
They can create chatrooms, create clocks, display the date, tell you when
your page was last accessed and much more. Two good places that I
use to get CGI scripts/ programs are at www.dynamicdrive.comand
www.freecodes.com.
These will offer you anything you can think of that you would want put
on your web page. One last thing that you can do to enhance your
web site is make it easier to navigate. Alot of people would suggest
either Frames or a Navi-bar. I would personally suggest a navi bar.
The best place to get one of these is at www.freecodes.com.
Other things you can do to enhance your site include adding animated pictures,
creating titles for each page( at www.cooltext.com),
or making your own personalized logo( you would have to get a company to
do this for you).
